Welcome to Laboratory of Public Health Entomology and Diploma in public health Entomology of Department of Zoology, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University ,Udaipur Rajasthan.. Our department as one of the oldest and greatest academic departments in Rajasthan and has been recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in research work in Vector control and teaching.
The Laboratory of Public Health Entomology is a pioneer laboratory in vector control in Rajasthan adopting various sustainable techniques in the field of vector and pest management.. Our research in following research focus areas: Malaria, Dengue, survillence and bionomics,Invitro assessment of plant products and microbials, Toxicology & Chemistry of Pesticides, Biopesticides, Vector Control, Arthropods of Medical Importance and Molecular Entomology.
The Laboratory has so far produced 20 full time research fellows with CSIR/UGC NET and other prestigious fellowships while 10 research fellows are currently working.
My team members are very active researchers, publishing widely in national and international journals, presenting many papers at conferences and producing many other research outputs of a high international standard. Staffs regularly travel abroad for research visits and/or to present papers at international conferences. Through our research and teaching we have built up a wide international network of collaborators. . Chemical and biological toxins, submitted for testing mosquito repellent from private sector(Godrej India PVT Ltd Mumbai), are evaluated in this laboratory as part of services. Also laboratory diagnosis of pests/ectoparasites of public health as well as preparing administrative procedures for medical and public health are part of our duty
The curriculum of this laboratory is addressed to students who wish to be distinguished as senior scholar and top executives in the private and public sector, while they also play an important role in public health.
The laboratory of Public Health Entomology is privileged to host national and international seminars ,conferences and work shops
Looking to the suffering to mankind with various vector borne diseases like malaria dengue and others ,this laboratory of Zoology department in collaboration with All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur has started a collaborative course in Diploma In Public health Entomology ,to cater the need of good students in epidemiology and vector control for the country besides we are also running Msc entomology with special emphasis on Forensic Entomology.
I hope that all my strong research team will do excellent work in the field of vector control for the country
