The LABORATORY OF PUBLIC HEALTH ENTOMOLOGY of department of zoology, M.L.S.U., Udaipur is working on a vision to be a premier center for excellence in Malaria research, Pest Management, and public health entomology. The Insect, microbial and herbal control laboratory, of entomology department, provides exciting yet scientifically, agriculturally, and environmentally relevant research experience and training as part of Post graduate diploma and doctoral research under the instruction of eminent scientist and experts from nationally and internationally recognized institutions. The Department envisions its teaching, research, extension and regulatory missions to be functionally integrated and of equal importance.
Our laboratory is committed to excell in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about insects, plant pathogens, and vector born diseases. Further, the Department applies this knowledge to solving practical problems related to: Vectro control, mosquito identification, screening herbal insecticide products and improving environmental quality, human and animal health.
We are on a mission to generate a brigade of trained professionals in the field of public health entomology, pest management technologies that is safe for human health and environment and to disseminate pest management technologies for effective adoption by farmers. We believe in community participatory approach in combating vector born epidemics and diseases, therefore the Insect, microbial and herbal control laboratory is taking initiatives to bring together experts, young scholars, farmers, and people around us to, provide unique opportunities to address critical issues that cut across disciplinary boundaries.
